Arxx Building Products: New Leadership, Re-Focus on Fundamentals for the Future
(Press Release)

Cobourg, Ontario - Arxx Building Products announces that Greig Clark has joined the company as CEO, and is getting the business back to basics for the future growth of the company. Arxx Building Products is North America's leading manufacturer of Insulated Concrete Forms, known for its ArxxT High Performance Wallsystem. The system is a "stay in place" concrete forming system, with numerous advantages, including superior strength and energy savings. Clark took the helm of Arxx Building Products in June 2002, while former CEO Doug Robinson left the company to pursue other interests.

Along with many of the value added features that Arxx offers, such as a strong branding and marketing program, track record and impressive code-listings, Clark has begun to shift the business focus to building relationships with new distributors. "We need to focus on building our distributor network," he said. "Our distributors already have the valuable relationships with architects and builders, so we need to help them drive sales with their customers." Under this new vision, Clark ended the year-long test of five Construction Solutions Centers (two in the U.S. and three in Ontario). "Our distribution network is growing steadily, with 25 Premier level distributors added since January 2002," he said, "So it is obvious that we need to serve our rapidly growing network of distributors rather than operate our own centers." The test was designed to explore independent wholesale distribution centers as a way to develop new markets for ICFs. The centers have now closed and the personnel re-dedicated to assisting distributors. Clark also said that a skilled team of Regional Managers and Assistant Regional Managers offer continuous sales support to distributors.

Clark is pleased with company's growth and feels that Arxx's value-added features in the highly competitive ICF market will keep sales on track. "Arxx has the brand recognition, the track record, unbeatable code-listings, high level training and technical support," he said. "Our distributors and their customers know that we are with them from start to finish, on their current projects and in the future."

While serving the still-strong residential market, Arxx has also made gains in the commercial construction, with the addition of the Arxx Tall Wall Bracing System, enabling wall heights of up to 50 ft. and a ULC/UL Fire Resistance Rating of 2 - 4 hours. Recent commercial projects include a Bed Bath & Beyond, Barnes & Noble, Ruby Tuesday's Restaurant and several other restaurants and retail stores in an all-Arxx retail mall in the Midwest and The Cloisters live/work luxury town homes in Ontario. A home that is replicating a Scottish castle is being constructed in Kendall, ON, further demonstrating the ease of installation and design possibilities of Arxx. "Our codes and being the only known ICF able to bear the ULC/UL FRR logo continue to be unbeatable selling points in the marketplace," said Clark.

Arxx forms are code-listed by BOCA, SBCCI and ICBO in the U.S., Arxx Building Products is the only active ICF company to have both a CCMC Evaluation Report and a Minister's Ruling in Ontario.
