Company begins to
build hotels with ICFs
Prime Source, Inc., a management/construction company,
has begun the process of building major hotels across the country, using the PolySteel Insulated Concrete wall system. The major names include Residence Inn, Hilton Gardens, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, and Holiday Inn Express.
Prime Source is operating a turn key business by designing, building, and furnishing the entire hotel projects. A department dedicated to designing each hotel was developed within the company; working directly towards the standards desired of the major hotels. Upon completion, the hotel owner takes over and immediately opens the doors to the traveling public. This is a new concept in the hotel construction industry; a concept that will be successful due to the complete control over the entire construction process. This concept will leave designing and building to the experts, and the hotel owner can simply concentrate on operating a successful inn.
Prime Source sees the advantages of using PolySteel because of the safety and comfort it will provide to customers of the hotels. PolySteel has a 4-Hour fire rating and a Sound Transmission Classification of 48+, resulting in a safer, quieter, more comfortable stay.
The first project is an Extended Stay PolySteel structure that will be built in Winchester, VA. Ground breaking is scheduled for early June, 2003. Another three hotels are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2003 with many more projects filling the pipeline for the near future.
The PolySteel hotels will be designed to have fewer units per building. As a result, each room will be 50% larger than standard hotel rooms. The rooms will be available to business travelers in daily, weekly, or monthly stays. High speed internet access will be available in every room. The layouts of the rooms are designed to accommodate the extended stay traveler with a separate living area, kitchenette, and a separate bath from the bedroom. The hotels will be located in a rural setting, rather than directly off of a major highway. This location will add to the privacy these hotels intend to provide the customer.
